I’m guessing that Weapon X is going to their its paws on Wolvie again after [coughspoilerdeathcough], or he goes back to them willingly afterward. They wipe his memory… ooh, wait. Maybe the [coughspoilerdeathcough] happens before the adamantium procedure? And that wipes his memory?

I liked the first one a little because it reminded me of Origin, which I liked when I read and was wondering if that’s what they were going to use as the basis for the movie character. Liked the second because it sets up nicely the conflict between the two of them, instead of them throwing at us ‘here, this is why they hate each other’ without further explanation. Hubby liked then both immensely but he’s not had the sort of investment with the character (only the movies) as myself (grew up reading). I agree with you, at worse plenty of droolworthiness. If a good movie comes out of it as well – all the better.

Am wondering, how this will correlates with X1, since he didn’t know who he was in the first film. Obviously a memory loss but still curious how it’s all going to fit together, if it even is. I know there’s huge amounts of comic history to work with, but still…

I’m torn between being hopeful and expecting the worst. I always feel like a jerk for going into a movie and expecting it to suck, but really, when my expectations are that low, anything good will impress me. :D At the worst, I’ll at least enjoy the eye candy. At the best, it’ll be a good movie.

Hi, Claire. I’m really hoping they can pull off the story in general, but particularly the dialogue. I think that’s one of the most difficult things about comics-to-movies adaptations; often the adapted comics stories were written twenty or thirty years ago, when comics writing was very different and tended toward the dramatic (I’m looking at you, Chris Claremont). I just hope the screenwriters that worked on Wolverine did a good job in updating and streamlining the dialogue.

The first one was a little cheesy but the second was better. In any comic movie I have to remind myself of the story I knew first – in the actual comic book – and I can usually get past any corniness or made-for-comic dialogue that doesn’t necessarily come off seriously when spoken in a movie. Hopefully, they can pull it off in this movie.
