And fanboys, to be inclusive. ;) I’m starting to get excited for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which… could be a bad thing (at least according to my habit of going into movies with low expectations, so I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they’re good).

And I’m finding myself wishing that I had $100 to blow on toys, because:

Wolverine Movie Action Figures Wave 1

WE WANTS THE PRECIOUS. I love how the blue-and-gold Wolvie has his claws out and is holding a sword. That makes him twice as badass. Also, can I register a complaint that they’re always putting shorts on Weapon X Wolvie? I mean, Barry Windsor Smith knew that Logan was too good for little black shorts back when he drew it. ;)

We’ve also got a new Wolverine poster, which I’m torn about:

xmen_origins-2

On one hand, I love an angsty Wolverine. He’s so good at it! (Even if he’s bizarrely airbrushed within an inch of his life.) On the other hand, this poster is the Wolverine equivalent of Darth Vader’s “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” at the end of Episode III.

And finally, we have the third tv spot, courtesy of Trailer Addict.

I feel like I’m cheating on dear old Wolvie, but OH MY GOD, we get lots more Gambit and Deadpool in this clip. I’m almost more excited about seeing Gambit in this movie than anyone else.

I feel you on wanting a bunch of money to blow on toys. I spent forty dollars in comics yesterday but I feel very guilty about it. And I was tempted to get some toys as well. I think the new trailer makes me feel better about the movie – I still fear it could totally suck. Though it is promising that it is not yet rated. I want R so very badly, like Watchmen.

I have to keep telling myself, “You’re saving money for the summer. You’ve got to pay for a class AND eat until August.” The idea of living on ramen until the fall is a pretty effective block, heh. But I really love the toy pack.

And YES, I hope it’s rated R. I feel the same way with the comics; it’s missing something if it’s cleaned up and made nicey-nice for kids. Wolverine can be a pretty nasty, vicious guy, and I think his stories are better when they’re gritty and violent.

What pretty pretty things I get first thing in the… afternoon (geez travel just wears me out). Ok, true, Wolverine would have never been caught dead in those little black shorts but my god the THIGHS. Mmmmm.

I’m getting very excited for this and I’m like you – that worries me. I’m so terrified I’ll end up walking out of the theater like I did at Last Stand – defeated. Being rated R would be great but I’m sure they’ll pretty it up for their target audience – the 14 year old boys who can’t get in to R movies. My future stepson is salivating over this movie along with me.

And just a random thought GOD Hugh Jackman is gorgeous. He makes me all quivery.

Oooh Ooh! I’m so excited for Gambit too! He’s always been a favorite character of mine! :) Can’t wait.

But perhaps I should tone that down a bit. Hopefully it will be a great movie, but I have my doubts. There. Now the movie can kick ass. :)

Yeah, I’m kind of thinking Fox is going to go for a PG-13 so they can get the teenage boy crowd. D’oh! That’ll suck, but it’s pretty much inevitable.

But yes, Gambit. And Jackman. I don’t know if I’ll survive the eye candy.

The Deadpool bits were very very awesome. I really hope, though, he has his skin condition by the end of the movie. The action figure looked very awesome!

Yeah, I’m hoping they’ll go into the Weapon X stuff with him, too, but I guess they couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use Ryan Reynold’s face. :D

Totally getting all of those for birthday or christmas. OR EASTER! BEST EASTER BASKET EVER! Gah. I love that poster. And that trailer :) It made me start having a weird Sabretooth crush. Have you seen the Super Hero Squad ones? They are so adorable!!! Even though this is totally a teenage/guy movie- It’s secretly for the ladies ;D

I… er, have some Superhero Squad figures. Including a little Wolvie and a little Phoenix, and a bunch of different Iron Mans. Iron Men? Whatever. :D And Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood.

    Er… wow, I sound like a complete nerd. :D
