TDF Pamela
The Discriminating Fangirl, who is more likely to answer to Pamela if you shout it at her, is the proud owner of an MA in English, focusing on children's/young adult literature and popular culture. She's now not using that degree to work as a project manager for a mobile app company. She reads voraciously, loves geeky movies and tv shows, reads comic books as long as she's not pissed off at Marvel, and when she's procrastinating, she enjoys playing video games. She can be contacted at t.d.fangirl @ gmail.com and followed on Twitter @tdfangirl.

Amazon (is) Rank
Time for a big of good old-fashioned Googlebombing.
It looks like Amazon is doing something exceptionally stupid. It looks like they’re removing the sales ranks of books with “sexual” content, which in the real world translates to “Amazon deranks books with The Gay in ‘em,” along with some explicit romances and other various and sundry books. I notice that Laurell K. Hamilton’s Merry Gentry series still has its rankings. Hmm. I call shenanigans.
Here are some links with more thorough information about this giant load of crap:
I dunno about the rest of you, but I really don’t need Amazon to play nanny and keep me from seeing omg naughty books! when I go a’searching. If people are so concerned about their children finding GLBT books on Amazon, perhaps they should better watch what their kids do online (not even going to say what I think about parents who try to hide or denigrate homosexuality to their children). And, on top of the ethical questions all of this raises, did Amazon seriously not think that this would affect their sales? HA.
Edit: Added link to Jezebel article.
