Wolverine Anime Trailer

I stumbled across this trailer while resizing Comic Con pics (the SDCC recap post is in the pipeline! I caught the con plague and have been out of commission pretty much all week). It’s for an upcoming Wolverine anime feature, due out in 2010.

What do you think about the trailer? I’ve got to say, I’m kind of unimpressed. The animation is decent, but there’s nothing there that screams Wolverine. It looks like your random anime ronin hero who happens to have claws. And that terrifying mullet? Gah!

    I am not impressed either….not to be harsh, but I feel it is almost a disservice to the character.

    What a boring trailer. It doesn’t even look like Wolverine. Couldn’t they at least given him the wing hair instead of a mullet? Mullets are Longshot’s territory, not Wolverine’s.

    Yeah, I’m thoroughly unimpressed. I mentioned to a friend on Twitter that he doens’t look like Wolverine; he looks like the guy from Ninja Scroll with claws instead of a katana. Turns out that the company that made Ninja Scroll made this. So we basically get the stock character with a hideous mullet and claws fighting oni or whatever that thing is. And it’s not Wolverine.

    Eh.
