I'll have to bring the first four issues of XMF to work one day and let you check it out. It's kinda hilarious in that Claremont hasn't changed his style in twenty years. Internal monologuing FTW!

No X-Men forever for me, yet. I can't afford to support all the Bat titles and the X titles, so I had to be selective. X-Factor's got Madrox and is being handled by Peter David, so it made the cut, and X-Force is surprisingly well-done. Deadpool is totally worth checking out, especially if you like dark humor and meta-narrative in your comics.

Thanks Marron!

As for Blackest Night, I simply had to cut my list somewhere, as I was spending more on comics than on food. I read Blackest Night #1 (and got the free Black Lantern ring!), and while I found it to be a good first issue, it's a bit darker than I like my superheroes. I know, I just recommended Deadpool and now I'm saying grim and gritty capes are bad, but at least Deadpool's dark in a self-conscious and humorous way; DC's been too dark for too long in my opinion...

Maybe I just don't like dark DC comics, as I think overall Marvel handles emo better... :)

Nice reading list you've got there! I have to wonder, though, with all of the other DC titles -- why no Blackest Night?

I've really got to start picking up the Deadpool comics. I love the guy, but I'm the laziest comic book buyer ever. I've only been picking up Fables, the Wolverine books, and X-Men Forever lately.

Have you had a chance to look at X-Men Forever yet? A friend on Twitter said it's the most expensive fanfic ever, and I have to agree. :D
