Okay, so last night I had a ridiculously romantic dream involving this guy. Richard Armitage is an English actor who’s known for his roles as Mr. Thornton in the BBC miniseries North & South, Guy of Gisborne on BBC’s Robin Hood, and Lucas North on Spooks, and has recently been seen in Strike Back, a British action television series.

He’s dreamy.

I saw him first in North & South, and when I caught a full blast of his particular brand of Brooding Englishman in an Ascot, I was immediately in love. Dreamy, I tell you.

And because I have to make you all understand the glorious appeal of this man in period costume, two screenshots from North & South. If you have not seen this miniseries, get thee to Netflix. It’s available to stream online. ;)

I am so with you on this. :D

When I was in London in May, there were GIANT adverts for Strike Back on the tube station walls. Larger-than-life Richard Armitage made travel fun!

OH, I am jealous. I want larger than life Richard Armitage! Though I think the fiancé would be kind of weirded out by that on the bedroom wall… ;)

Oh how lovely that you had a dream about him. He’s fairly fantastic. Eilonwy’s posting reminds me of a true story: as a half-joke I e-mailed the billboard company to see how to go about acquiring a Strike Back billboard from one of the train stations in the UK. They responded and said I should contact the station manager and ask when one would be taken down and to see if I could have it. Since I’m in America, it wasn’t feasible for me to actually do that. They probably think I’m nuts, but they didn’t tell me that! I’m a wee bit obsessed with the John Porter character, as evidenced by the billboard story and my addiction to making fan videos. Okay, I admit it: I’m VERY obsessed.

He’s definitely worthy of obsession. Not only is he gorgeous, he’s also a great actor!

Hee. It was a very delightful image, but honestly, that much Richard Armitage might very well prove to be too much for inside the average abode, even if one does not have a fiance. On the side of a building or a tube wall, however, *perfect*. :)

Melts is right! This post made me very happy. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who could gaze at him all the day long.

I think my favorite thing I’ve seen him in would have to be the Wholly Holy Happy Ending episodes of Vicar of Dibley. He is SO adorable as Harry the accountant.

I saw those Richard Armitage adverts and believe me they were REALLY BIG though unfortunately not the best picture of him. Very enterprising of Bccmee to ask about getting one but even RA admitted in an interview that though he was offered one, his house was not big enough for it! North and South is amazing!
