Hmm... I think I'll watch this one just to satisfy my curiosity about how they're going to continue the series without using Bourne as the main character. Plus, it looks just as action-y as the originals. :)

Heston is completely bonkers, but I would love to have one of his dinners. Or just have dinner with him. I imagine he's fascinating to talk to. Or at least reeeeeeally entertaining.

I think that X-Men fans, particularly the old-school comics-only fans, are impossible to please when it comes to the movies. They expect everything to be exactly like the comics, which just doesn't work well in terms of adaptation. I say this as someone who is That Kind of Fan when it comes to Harry Potter, heh. I understand that it's irrational to expect the movies to be completely faithful to the books, but I still hate it when the movies screw things up.

So it's kind of understandable that hardcore fans would hate XMFC, but I disagree with their idea that it should have been a carbon copy of the comics. It had problems, no doubt, but I thought it was really entertaining. :)

I was surprised to see "X-men First Class" in several of your picks only because I had heard some terribly scathing reviews among the fans of the X-men. Having said that, I enjoyed the movie; mostly because my expectations were fairly low. I ADORED James McAvoy as Xavier, not to mention Eric Lensherr as Magneto. Kevin Bacon was a little on the scenery chewing side for me; and I completely agree about January Jones...she's not called Mad Men's acting placebo for nothing. I liked Dr. Who season 6, but felt it was a little convoluted and I HATED what they did as far as Amy and Rory's baby being taken away; even if she does end up being River Song. I"m sorry, as a mother, I'd have a really hard time being with the Dr. because I would completely blame him for what happened; I felt they glazed over that in the show. But, Matt Smith as the Dr. has grown on me and I wish River was in every episode because I love her chemistry with the Dr.
I might just have to check out the BBC radio shows...ok, and is it just me or is the BBC just completely awesome!? They have some of my favorite shows.

I mostly just have to force myself to do it. I haven't found a trick that will make me actually want to write; it's more a matter of actually making myself do it and then polishing up the finished product.
