Wondering what we’ve been up to lately? The Discriminating Fangirl Weekly Update will keep you all informed about what we’re into this week. You can always follow us on our Facebook page, Twitter, or personal social media accounts for more.
Reading: Well, I was reading Cara Black’s Murder in the Marais, but I wasn’t feeling it. I think I might switch to And Then There Were None in preparation for the adaptation with Aidan Turner and Miranda Richardson. If that doesn’t work, I think I’ll start Ayisha Malik’s Sofia Khan is Not Obliged or Lucy Knisley’s Relish.
Listening to: This week’s All the Books podcast episode. Before that, I was listening to the new Black Tapes. I’m planning on listening to the Hamilton soundtrack since I finally got it through work (the holds list is ridiculous, guys).
Watching: I’ve got a lot piled up on my DVR that I haven’t watched yet. Preacher just started this Sunday on AMC and I plan on watching that, as well as the final episodes of The Night Manager and the new season of Orphan Black.
Working on: Getting more organized! I recently bought a Filofax personal-style planner from Michael’s (for considerably less than Filofax or Kikki K or any of those brand name ones you see in the planner community). I can’t seem to find it on the Michaels website, but it runs about $20 (or less with one of their coupons which they always have) and you get some grid sheets, to-do lists, and lined paper along with dividers. The calendar inserts run about $8 but you fill them in, so you can just save the January – April sheets for next year. They have tons of stuff you can get to personalize your planner. Below is what I bought initially (planner, calendar inserts, two sets of washi tape, and a Pigma Micron 0.25mm in black):
Reading: I have 5 books pending, but I haven’t chosen which to read first. I’m not really sure what I’m in the mood for at the moment.
Listening to: Nothing right now.
Watching: Still watching Murdoch Mysteries. I’m on season 7 now and getting frustrated with how Detective Murdoch and Dr. Ogden still haven’t managed to get married yet.
Reading: I’m finishing up A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. I was a little frustrated with the lead character at first, but I’m enjoying it a lot now that she’s done some growing. Next up is The Rule of Luck by Catherine Cerveny.
Listening to: The blessed sound of silence.
Working on: My personal planner addiction (Amanda shares this with me). I keep buying stickers, and today I picked up a larger paper cutter so I can make my own dividers. I need to design some meal planner pages and some sort of workout tracker, too.
