The State of The Fangirl

February 15, 2012 Geek Girl Life, Sundries 0

It’s been quiet around TDF lately, and I’d like to apologize for that and offer up an explanation.

As I’ve mentioned before, I get the winter blues and it’s been… well, winter. So that’s reason #1.

To Do ListReason #2 has to do with my defective finger joints. I have some kind of inflammatory arthritis (doc thinks it’s something autoimmune, whee, but he hasn’t made a firm diagnosis yet), so not only do I get to deal with swollen, painful joints. I also get the joy of lots of fatigue thanks both to the condition itself as well as the medication I’m on to try to relieve the swelling. I spent the first two weeks on the meds in a state of low grade nausea, and while I’m not feeling pukey anymore, I’m still wiped out.

I’m actually kind of uncomfortable posting about this, not because I’m embarrassed about my sausage fingers or anything, but because I don’t want it to sound like I’m pandering for sympathy. I just want to explain that it’s not just my natural laziness that’s keeping me from posting here at TDF. It’s my natural laziness on top of feeling generally crappy, heh.

I have a list of upcoming posts here on my desk, along with a few encouraging notes to myself. Let’s see if I can knock some of this stuff out today.

In slightly more cheerful news, I have been writing more fiction lately than usual, so at least that’s something. :)
