NBC has released a trailer for the new series Constantine, based on Vertigo’s Hellblazer comic book. Some of you may remember the Keanu Reeves version of John Constantine, but don’t worry, those of you who hated the idea of Kay-nu playing your favorite chain-smoking exorcist. Matt Ryan plays Constantine (and he’s British!), and the show also stars Harold Perrineau (WAAAAAALT!) and Lucy Griffiths.
Constantine will air Friday nights starting this fall on NBC.
What do you think of the trailer? I’ve gotta confess, I have a soft spot for Keanu’s Constantine movie, mostly because holy shit, how awesome is Tilda Swinton as Gabriel? I liked the aesthetics of the movie, too, but it’s definitely not Constantine as in the comics series. It’ll be great to see if the tv series will stick more to the comics in terms of story and character.
