TDF Weekly Update 6.15.16

June 15, 2016 Cool Stuff, Features, Geek Girl Life 0

Wondering what we’ve been up to lately? The Discriminating Fangirl Weekly Update will keep you all informed about what we’re into this week. You can always follow us on our Facebook page, Twitter, or personal social media accounts for more.

Amanda
Reading: Ayisha Malik’s Sofia Khan is Not Obliged. Very much in the vein of Bridget Jones’ Diary, but about a hijabi book rep and blogger who is tasked with writing her own book on Muslim dating.

Listening to: Not much of anything new. Eagerly awaiting the return of My Dad Wrote a Porno, of course.

Watching: Just last night, I rewatched The Martian with my mom since she hadn’t seen it yet. Still a fun watch. I should check out the original novel sometime.

Working on: Organizing stuff for the first Geek Girl Brunch Cincinnati event at the end of the month. Also plugging away at my reading challenges and posting lots of #bookstagram photos on my Instagram account.

Brittany
Reading: Nothing at the moment. Taking a break from Triad Blood this week.

Listening to: Modern Rock Hits station on Google Play.

Watching: Madame Antoine. It’s a Korean drama that focuses on a fortune teller (who fakes talking to the ghost of Marie Antoinette and is really good at reading people) and a psychologist that are forced to work together in the same office.

Working on: Finding a new job.

Pamela
cvr9781416575344_9781416575344_hrReading: I’m about to start French Milk by Lucy Knisley, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite cartoonists. I’ve also got a couple of Star Wars books lined up.

Listening to: The most irritating hosts ever on the PlayStation E3 press conference video. I JUST WANT TO SEE THE GAMES, PEOPLE.

Watching: Kung Fu Panda 3. We rewatched the first two the other night, and man, do I love the first one.

Working on: Our upcoming Instagram challenge! Shh, don’t tell anyone.
