TDF Weekly Update 6.22.16

June 22, 2016 Audio, Books, Features, Geek Girl Life, Movies, Reading, TV, Watching 0

Wondering what we’ve been up to lately? The Discriminating Fangirl Weekly Update will keep you all informed about what we’re into this week. You can always follow us on our Facebook page, Twitter, or personal social media accounts for more.

Reading: Just finished Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s We Should All be Feminists and started The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh. It’s a YA retelling of 1,0001 Nights.

Listening to: Lots of chillstep/downtempo mixes and playlists

Watching: Not much of anything at the moment. Whatever I put on tends to be background noise while I work on something else.

Working on: Coming up on the first GGB Cincinnati brunch event this Sunday. Will be sure to link to the post about it from that blog. Be sure to follow my Instagram for photos as well as my bookstagram challenges. And watch for a post about our very own Instagram book challenge in the coming week.

[Brittany is off this week and should return next week for the Update.]

Reading: Imprudence by Gail Carriger, the second book in her Custard Protocol series. I’m excited to read more about Prudence and Primrose and Percy!

Listening to: Thanks to Pandora’s chillwave station, I’ve discovered Alina Baraz & Galimatias. It’s super mellow and sexy and makes great writing music.

Watching: I’m on season 9 of Murdoch Mysteries, and I’m afraid I’ll go into withdrawal once we run out of episodes. Otherwise, it’s all Star Wars: The Force Awakens, all the time. Or at least when Mr Fangirl is working in the evenings, so I don’t have to hear, “You’re watching this again?”

Working on: Reading reading reading. I have a big pile of books that I want to read (and a couple that I need to read for review), so that’s my task for the next week.

Keep an eye out for next week’s post. Let us know what you’re up to this week in the comments below.
