Weekend Sundries

'Lazy Sunday Afternoon' by cybertoad @ flickr

Ah, it’s a lazy Sunday morning. I spent yesterday running around Dallas, buying books, clothes on clearance, and stuff at IKEA. Today? I’m hoping to do a whole lot of nothing.

In blog news, I’ve added a nifty little script that will allow you to subscribe to an entry’s comments. I don’t know why I didn’t do this before, but now you can subscribe and receive notification whenever I (or anyone else) replies to you!

Listen to a great interview with Carrie Vaughn!

She answers a question of mine about halfway through, and can I just say that I’m incredibly pleased that she declares herself a dyed-in-the-wool feminist?

And while we’re talking Vaughn, I’d like to take a moment to remind you to enter my Kitty Norville giveaway! Remember, if you spread the word, you get more chances to win!

In a bit of utterly AWESOME news, Marjorie M. Liu is going to be penning an ongoing Marvel series, called Dark Wolverine. How much does that rock? I might just have to start picking up that title when it’s released.

I’m pathetically behind on my tv watching. This is partly because we don’t have cable and live too far away from Dallas to get a good signal without a huge antenna, but also because… well, I’m behind. So I’m hoping I’ll get a chance to watch last week’s Lost (woo!) and BSG (frak yeah!) sometime today.

Ghost Towns

Wil Wheaton tweeted this earlier today, and this is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while.

24 Ghost Towns and Abandoned Cities

The photography is amazing, capturing the desolation of these places perfectly. The image of Oradour, France, is particularly haunting, especially after reading the caption. I’m definitely going to have to travel to some of these places and try out my new camera.

Speaking of which, I need to start uploading some of my new photos to my flickr account. I fiddled around and took some photos of our houseplants and the pumpkin on the front steps last night, and OH MAN I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS CAMERA. I just wish I’d had it when I made that trip to San Francisco in September. Guess I’ll just have to go there again. For photography. Heh.
